NEW YORK, June 7 (#).—Fluctua- tion in the purchasing power of gold and its evils were discussed by Sir Josiah Stamp, a director of the Bank of England, before the Stable Money Association last night at the Harvard Club. He asserted that gold - stabilization is one of the most serious problems facing the industrial and financial community. “The rapid appreciation of the value of gold—that is, the fall in prices.” he said, “is making the position of deblors all: over the world more serious. This change in gold value of 25 per cent in ‘the last four or five years has, in effect, added the equivalent of over geven billion dollars to the British national debt at a time when everybody imagines that it has been diminished by substantial sums being paid off.” Electrocuted by Pole.
