Peterson, Chicago city treasurer, last night assured listeners at a Chamber of Commerce banquet here that the Illinois city was neither broke nor wicked. i) “According to a popular report, Peterson sald, “Chicago spent $30,000,~ 000 last year for liquor. “In comparison to population the erime rate in Chicago is not so great as that in other cities” Peterson con- tinued. “A visitor does not enter Cin- cinnati prepared to make his last will and testament, but statistics show that the crime rate of Cincinnati is greater than that of Chicago.
