Durrett, chief of the drug control work in the Department of Ag- riculture for the last two years, has re- signed, and will leave the service the middle of April to become State health officer of Alabama. His place in charge of the department’s food, drug and in- secticide administration will be filled by Dr. Frederick J. Cullen, medical officer in the department. As chief of drug control Dr. Dur- rett has led campaigns against various fraudulently labeled medical prepara- tions. He recently inaugurated a cam- paign against fraudulent preparations recommended for influenza, which for Georgia, who is well known in|flooded the market during the recent Washington. According to information received at D. A. R. headquarters, Mr. Erwin died last Thursday from a heart attack and was buried Saturday in Chattanooga. Tern.
