THOUSANDS ATTEN CHRYSLER WEDDING Crowds Surround Church in New York as Brilliant Ceremony Takes Place. By the Associated Press. NEW YORK, January 4.-—Miss Ber- || nice Chrysler, daughter of Walter P. Chrysler, automobile manufacturer, and Edgar W. Garbisch, former captain of the Army foot ball team and all- American center, were married in_the presence of 2,000 guests at St. Bar- tholomew's Church today. The ceremony, which took place at 4:30 pm, was performed by the Rev. M. George Thompson, rector of the Episcopal Church at Greenwich, Conn. He was assisted in the Episcopal wed- ding service by the Rev. Herbert Ste- venson, assistant rector of St. Bar- tholomew's. The single-ring ceremony ‘was used. Crowd Sidewalks. Outside the church, before and after ths ceremony, throngs of curious on- lookers crowded the walks and ripped holes in the canopy that led to the steps, the better to see the bride and her attendants as they arrived. The bride, who was given in mar- riage by her father, wore a gown of white shimmering satin, designed in princess silhouette, with a bodice orna- mented with seed pearls and a 30-foot train. A coronet of twisted pearls held | the white tulle veil, which fell to the end of her long train. She carried a sheat of white calla lilies. Bridal Attendants. The 10 bridal attendants who ac-| companied her to the altar were | gowned in similar frocks of white vel- vet. They wore small white velvet| tricorn hats, ornamented by white plumes, and each one carried two dozen American Beauty roses. Mrs. Byron C. Foy, sister of the bride, urved as matron of honor, and Miss Elizabeth Stout of New York acted as maid of honor. Robert S. Garbisch of Butler, Pa, was his brother’s best man. After a3 wedding reception at Sher- Ty's, the bride and bridegroom left on a honeymoon, the destination of which was not revealed. Menees, widow of Dr. ‘Thomas Menees, first dean of the Van- derbilt University Medical School, died here late last night at the age of 100. Her first husband was Hiram K. Walker, editor of the True Whig, a Nashville newspaper published prior to the Civil War. Dr. Menees was & mem- ber of the Confederate Congress.
