GADDIS, 38, IS CALLED BY DEATH Office Manager of Cafritz Company Succumbs Following Series of Surgical Operations. Albert H. Gaddls, 38 years old, office manager of the Cafritz Co., 1060 Four- teenth street, died early this morning at his home, 1860 Clydesdale place. Mr. Gaddis’ death followed a seris of sus gical operations, which started about a month ago. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Mr. Gaddis has been with the Cafritz organization for about five years and was well known in Washington real es- tate circles. He was vice president of the Washington Real Estate Bowlers' League. He is survived by his widow, Mrs, Sa- rah Gaddis; a brother, Leroy Gaddis, and his mother, Mrs. Bessie Gaddis, all of this city. RETIRED OF.FICER—DIES. Brig. Gen. Willoughby Walke Won D. 8. M. in World War. Brig. Gen. Willoughby Walke, a re- tired Artillery officer, died at St. Luke’s Hospital, San Francisco, last Sunday, according to War Department advices. He was from Norfolk, Va, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for his services during the World War. Graduating from the Military Academy in June, 1883, he served in the 3d United States Engineers in the Spanish War of 1898. Reaching the grade of brigadier general in December, 1922, he was retired for age in the fol- lowing January. His widow, Mrs. Julia A. Walke, resides at 445 Post street, San Francisco. Lester A. Barr Selected to Serve on Commission. Lester A. Barr, retired contractor, was selected today by the justices of the District Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Jury Commission, which draws the names of all prospective ju-ors, He is named for a period of three years and succeeds Norval L. Burchell, grocer, who resigned. Other members of the commission are James H. Gore and Edgar Norris. Tur- ner’s special grand jury struck out at alleged fraud in the August primary election in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County for the third time late yester- day and returned secret indictments against six more election officials. Today’s report increased the total number indicted to 37 to date. Twenty- nine of the 31 precious indicted have been arrested. The trials of the 29 now out on bond have been ‘set for next month.
