CONVERTIBLE BOND [w o BONDS et sl Received by Private Wire Direst to The Star Ofics UNITED STATES IRABBIT SUPPLIES By the Associ New Treasury Certificates. ed Press. An issue of two series of Treasury certmcn(es of indebtedness totaling ment financial needs as the year closes, was announced yesterday by Secretary Mellon. Both issues will be dated De- cember 15, 1928. One of the series will be for nine months, maturing September 15, 1929, and will total approximately $200,000,- 000. The other will run a year and amount to about $300,000,000. The proceeds will be used to meet obligations of the Government which fall due this month. About $570,000,000 of Treasury certificates become payable during the month, while interest pay- ments on the public debt will require approximately $95,000,000. Mr. Mellon said funds received from the certificates, together with money on hand, would enable the Treasury to meet the pay- ments.
