Mastbaum in response to her invitation to attend a children’s show in a Ger- mantown theater. It was written No- vember 26. 1926, and Mr. Mastbaum expressed his regrets at not being able to attend the show, not because he was 100 busy. but due to ill health. He died two weeks later. “In the last paragraph of his letter” continued Mrs. Willard, “he offered the facilities, the theaters, the personnel of the Stanley Co. and the co-operation of all his friends to ald us in our work. And it is certainly a pleasure to know that his associates, unaware of this let- ter I hold in my hand. are carrying on an idea which was an ideal to Mr. astbaum. T have traveled all over the State and observed conditions. The co- operation received from theaters ex- ceeded our own fondest expectations, but we want the united support of the entire industry. We are meeting the producers next week and I feel con- fident that within the next year or two every critic of the motion picture in- dustry will automatically become its stanch friend and supporter.” .
