Mrs, MacNelll, who is a typical Irish beauty, with dark brown hair, lovely cream and pink complexion, and deep blue eyes, was, before their marriage, Misy Margaret McKenna. She is the daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. James McKenna of Armagh, that historic city whére St. Patrick established the episcopal see which is revered as the primatirl see of Ireland. She was educated In the convent of the Sacred Heart at Armagh, but nearly all her girlhood has been spent in Dublin. Her mar- riage, July 9, 1924, took place at the parsh church at Dun-Loaghaire, which i« in County Dublin. Col. and Mrs. MacNeill have but recently arrived | in Washington and are living at the Fairfax. Mrs. MacNeill spent all of May ard June i Leavenworth, and after the colonel's graduation they made a tour of the Southwest, begin- ning at Denver and going via the pic- turesque Sante Fe Railroad through the Indian country of New Mexico and Arizona. Their visit to the Grand Canyon of the Colorado was the out- standing feature of thelr travels, and though their time was limited and their allotment to that splendid scenic wonder had been placed at two day: they lingered for a week, and they hope to make another visit in the fu- ture, perhaps when young Hugh is of an age to enjoy the spectacle with them. They journeyed up the Cali- fornia-coast to San Francisco and then thelr vacation was at an end and thev came across the continent on the fast- est express. v One fact which they noted with deep enjoyment was that everywhere, even Truly Smart $2305: .-« $2505 ... Both the colonel and his wife are genlal and compan- jonable and intensely interested in this country, its people and its Institutions. Both are superb horse people and they covered all the places of note around Denver and in Kansas on horseback rather than'by motor. Mrs. MacNelll is fond of tennis and is an excellent player. She also plays golf. though since coming to Washington she has devoted her leisure to sighi- seeing when her husband has been here with her. His duties take him far afleld and he will probably visit several others of the Summer camps for the reserves when his inspection at Camp Gretna is ended. Col. and Mrs. MacNeill have met many friends in Washinzton whom they knew in Dublin and they have recefved con- tinual hospitality since their advent about fhree weeks ago. 3000 Connecticut Ave. Cathedral Mansions Dining Room.
