Y., December 2.— Corrupt control of political affairs can exist only so long as women consent to it, Gov. NEW YORK, December 2.—Though they lived in Russia for 40 years, raised a family of eight children there and speak nothing but Russian, John Marks, 47 years old, and his wife, Helen, 46, told immigration officials vesterday that they were both natives of this country and had been saving for years to return. In support of their claim both pre- sented passports listing Cook County, Til., as their birthplace. Marks said that he was taken to Russia when Iy he Was & year old; his_wife said she was 3 years old when she was taken there. [Eighteen- years ago the two ‘who had come from Cook County met, fell in love and were married. 2 Even then their one thought was to come back to the United States. All the 18 years Marks has been put- ting money aside, against the. day when the dream of the trip to America might be realized. ERIE, Pa., December 2 (P).—Ray Yeager, deputy collector of customs of Erie, was arrested yesterday on charges of conspiracy and breaking into a Government warehouse in con- nection with the theft of 68 cases of Canadian ale from the Government ‘warehouse here some time ago.
