NEW YORK, September 12 (#).— The firmness which has characterized bond trading this week was maintained up to the close of today's market. Prices in all divisions showed an ad- vancing tendency, although the gains in many issues were limited to frac- tions. Foreign obligations continued to lead the market in activity. Cable dispatches reporting that reassuring opinions of the German financial sit- uation had been expressed at a con- ference of bankers in London stirred up fresh interest in the German 7s, which held a fraction below par. New high prices in the French group in- cluded Seine 7s and Bordeaux, Mar- seilles and Lyon issues. Kingdem of Hungary 7%s matched their previous high price. Virginia-Carolina issues were in de- mand and topped their previous 1925 high records. NEW YORK, September 12 UP).— Tracing on the Curb Exchange today continued to maintain the lively pace that had developed on recent sessions, and whatever profit taking was in- duced at the higher levels had no oth- er apparent influence than adding to the volume of sales. Prices in the main remained around Friday's clos- ing figures, while further improve. ment occurred in parts of the indus- triat and public utility divisions. The outstanding movement in point of range was noted in J. G. Brill Co., which started its career on the curb yesterday, selling from 125 to 140. To- day it scored a further gain of 7% points before meeting with a setback. Libby Owens moved up 4 points. In the “public iutility group Sdutheast Power continued in demand, selling up about 6 points. The ofl shares were slow in devel- oping any action of note, but vigorous buying appeared in the last hour and numerous advances ranging from 1 to 9 points were recorded in the more prominent issue: Motor trucks ave belleved to be the means of transportation that even- tually will open the interior of India 1o the world.
