Henry Jefferson Bradley, 73 0ld and a life-long resident of South west Washington, died Monday at his residence, 605 Sixth street southwest. Mr. Bradley had been in i1l health for several weeks, and underwent an op- eration in June. He was a_member of the Association of Oldest Inhabitants of the District of Columbfa. Born January 10, 1852, Mr. Rradley was the son of the late John Robert Bradley and Mrs. Martha Ellen Brad- | ley. As a boy, he sold newspapers to Union Army_soldiers in Washington during the Civil War. He succeeded his father in the fruit business in sev- eral of the well known city markets, putheast and old Northern Liberty markets. He retired from the market business in 1884 and entered the postal service as a mail carrier in 1890, and held that position until retired in 1920 Mv. Bradley was a member of .I Junior Order of United American Mechanics. and the Fifth Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Augusta E. Brad- lev; a son, Harry ¥. Bradley. a daugh ter, Mrs. Myrtle B. Coxen, and a granddaughter, Miss Helen E. Coxen. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock, Rev. John E.
