CHICAGO GB.AITN PiICEs. CHICAGO, July 22 (#).—Owing to recent severe setbacks in price, less disposition was shown today to press the, selling side of the wheat market, and rallies from early declines took place. With the weather Northwest very favorable for maturing the Spring crop, however, prices at first showed a downward trend. Cutting of grain m the southern sections of the North- west belt was reported as becoming more general, and indications were that although black rust was wide- spread, actual damage has been com- paratively small. The opening, un- changed to 1% lower, September 1.481% to 1.49% and December 1.49 to 1.50, was followed by rallies that lifted Sep | tember to 1.501 and December to 1.51. Buying on the part of recent sellers who had a profit in sight gave strength to corn. After opening at 8 off to % up. September 1.03% to 1.03%, the corn market quickly scored moderate gains all around. .(]al_n derived firmness from corn.
