The Texas and Pacific reports sur plus of $66, for May, in contrast to a deficit of $169,493 in May, 1924 The crude rubber market continued its display of strength today, sellers of June ribbed smoked sheets asking 91 cents; July, 85; September, 79, and October-December Sales of the B Woolworth Co this vear will approximate $240.000.- 000, H. BALTIMORE, June 27 (Special).— While the local egg market has held steady all the week it is largely a matter of quality now as to the readi ness with which native and nearb: eggs can be sold. There is considerable variation on the condition and quality of stock arriving. For choice new laid eggs there is a fair demand for full quotations, but held, stale or doubt- ful quality eggs are discriminated against. The market closed firm to- day at 32 cents a dozen for first in free cases. The live poultry market while easfer has held up surprisingly well considering the liberal receipts the past week. Buyers are taking hold quite freely of all large fat stock for the Fourth of July holiday, but there has been too many undersized small birds shipped and as a consequence market today shows a slight decline. most of the shipments consist of small Leghorns which are not wanted by the better trade and have to be sold to the arabs at slight conces- {sions under the lower values quoted Medium to large mixed Springers in good demand at 40 to 48 a pound. but small stock will not bring over 35 to 35. Large Leghorns and mi- nocas sell 36 to 38, medium, 32 to 35, while small and poor are slow sale at 28 to 30. Market for old hens holds steady at 26 to for large fat stock, but small and rough fowl and Leghorns are draggy at 22 and 23, Old roosters plentiful and not much demand at 18 Spring ducks easing off under in- creasing receipts and it takes large fat birds to bring top values of 28 lo 27, while old ducks are neglected &t 14 to 20. Pigeons in ample supply and slow sale at 20 to 30 a pair for voung and to 30 for old, as to quality and condition. Early June apples are in good de mand, but most of the shipments so far have been of small size and only large stock showing quality will bring top values of 2.50 to 5.00 a barrel and 1.00 to 2.00 per hamper. Shipments of small apples not advisable as they are not salable. Blackberries and huckleberries in fairly good demand at 12 to 20 a quart for the former and 20 to 25 for the latter; red raspberrfes are bringing 12 to 15 a pint and black, 20 to 25 a_quart. Cherries attract at tention only where of fancy large red and black sweets, which sell at 12 to 15 a pound, but all small and sour stock moves slow at 4 to 8. Demand for native and nearby new potatoes is good, but only No. 1 well graded stock will command outside quotations of 3.50 to 5.00 a barrel, while No. 2s sell mostly 2.00 to 2.50 and culls 1.00 to 1.25. Season for old potatoes about over, but market rules firmer at 1.00 to 1.25 per 100 pounds and 1.50 to 2.50 for 150 pound sacks, No. 2s and ungraded stock not wanted at_any price. Market for native and nearby vege- tables rules generally easy under in- creasing receipts and prices are most- ly in buyers’ favor at the following gdotations: Asparagus, 1.25 to 3.60 dozen; beans, 2.00 to 3.35 bushel; beets, 4.00 to' 6.00 hundred; cabbage, 1.50 to 2.00 hamper: carrots, 3.00 to 5.00 hundred; lettuce, 50 to 1.00 bushel: onions, 2.00 to 2.50 bushel; peas, 2.00 to 2.75 bushel, and squash, 1.25 to 1.50 basket. SANTA FE'S INCOME UP. NEW YORK, June P).—The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe in- creased its net operating income in May to $2,009,528, compared with $1,437,823 in May last year. ' Although gross revenues fell nearly $319,000, net operating income for the five months this year gained more than “$2,000,000 to $12,261,833. 1
