SPORTS QUTLINED | AT SCHOOL CENTERS ‘pommunity Managers An- tnounce Opening of Summer Program on July 1. 'i-r...- Community Center Department Trs. Cecil Norton Broy, director, a founces the opening of the Summer seaxon at Central High and Dunbar High Centers on Wednesday of this week, July 1, with a full schedule of swimming at both centers, with ten- nis at Central High, and with a music course at Dunbar. The United States Army Band, con- ducted by Capt. W. J. Stannard, will play an opening concert at Central High center on Wednesday evening at 7:30 o'clock in the adium, to which the public is cordially invited, without admission fee. Other cencerts will be glven during the Summer months in the big stadfum at Central by the Army Band and by other local bands, to be annonced later. Six thousand seats in the stadium free to the people of Washington are to a feature of this season's t:vemm: concerts at Central, under the auspices of the Community Center Department. On Wednesday afternoon the tennis courts at Central High will also open for the first time this season, and on every week-day afternoon from & oclock until dark, and on Saturday afternoons from 1 o'clock until free use of the three courts i vited. Application for regular ments on the courts should be writing to Mrs. M. M. Forrest, Com munity Center Department, Franklin School Building, Thirteenth and K streets northwest, or in person to Paul | Blocher at the courts during playing hours.
