Pi Beta Phi Banquet HOflOl’S Foundcrs. Day Members of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity resident in Washington gave their annual Founders' day banquet at Wardman Park Hotel last evening. Miss Rhoda Watkins, president of the Washington Alumnae Club of the fra- ternity, presided and introduced the speakers, Miss Emilie Margaret White and Miss Ellen Littlepage. = Mrs. Fletcher Linn, who as regent from Oregon has been attending the D. A. R. sessions in Washington, brought greetings from the Oregon Pi Beta Phis. Mrs. Linn is known to members of the fraternity throughout the whole country as the composer of one of their best loved songs. Following the banquet, adjournment was taken to the rose room, where a very effective fashion show was staged. Costumes of . each period, from the Revolutionary era down to the present, were prettilv exhibited and dances characteristic of each pe- riod were given. Miss Pauline Ayres danced the minuet and Miss Helen Williams the gavotte. Larson, at the piano, was the accom- panist throughout thie program. Asa concluding feature the freshman mem- bers of the Pi Beta Phi Chapter at George Washington University put on a clever and delightful little one-act play. SUNDAY “Elf-Boy™ Fairy Fantasy Listed as Attraction Among the special Spring entertain- ments. given under the auspices of the Women's Alliance of All Souls’ Unitarian Church will be “The EIf- Boy,” a fairy fantasy in three acts, by Ada Louise Townsend, which is to be presented by the puplls of Katharyne Dunkhorst on the stage of Emerson hall of the church, Sixteenth and Harvard streets northwest, Fri- day evening, May 1, at 8 o'clock. The STAR. WASHINGTON, proceeds of this entertainment are to 8o to Friendship House. ; The cast of “The EIf-Boy"” is large, the dramatic action and the dialogue being varled throughout with the graceful fairy dances introduced by Miss Dunkhorst’s pupils. Special scenery is being planned for the pro- duction by an experienced group of workers, under direction of Mr. Karl Hilding Belj, which, together with the special lighting and the flower-like fairy costumes, promises to render this coming presentation of the elvin play both interesting and beautiful. The hostesses were Mrs. Helen Fisk Torrey, Miss Hazel Gibson Wood,. Mrs, Rose Hyer Hartung and Miss Leland Parker. From 9 to 10 o'clock a charming musi- cal program was given by Miss Char- lotte Klein and AMrs. Mabel Linton Williams, pianists, and Inez Wood, sopranes.
