NEW HOSTESS FOR THE SOCIETY SUNDAY Mrs. Coolidge a Patroness For Hospital Benefit Mrs. Calvin Coolidge will head the list of prominent patronesses of the benefit card party, to be held at the Harrington Hotel, Thursday evening, for the purpose of raising funds to erect an addition to the hospital of the University of Virginia. Miss Martha Oaks, who has spent several years among the mountain people of Virginia and West Vir- ginia, will journey from Charlottes- ville, Va., that she may be present at the affair, and will give a brief talk on conditions in the mountainous sec- tions. She will stress the necessity of building®the proposed addition to the university hospital that the chil- dren in those sections may receive proper treatment of contagious diseases. SHhe is also expected to re- view cases of diptheria, scarlet fever, STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C.. APRIL proved fatal to mountain children be- cause of their inability to secufe proper medical attention. . Prominent Washingtonians have responded to the appeal for funds for the new addition and have signified their intention of attending the card party.
