The simple yet attractive lines of the new Dort models aroused genuine interest person- ally. 1 was much pleased with both the design and color scheme. From the Automobile Department of [ESe——e—————— Naturally, the first thing T wanted to know when 1 saw this fine new series of body types was: Who is the designer? I wasn't much sur- prised to learn that it was an expert body man, Mr. Henderson, who used to be with Holbrook. By this time so many people have told the Dort folks what a wonderful improvement they made in their cars and what a wise choice they made in getting Henderson to work with them that it must be an oid story. I just want, how- ever, to add my congratulations to the many that’ they must have received on the appear- fance of the Dort line for 1321. From the Automobile Department of Theniliiile Som e 3 NEW-YOBRK HERALD I congratulate you on the genuine interest that was shown in the Dort exhibit at the Grand Central Palace show. Mingling with the people about the exhibit I heard a lot of enthusiastic commeént and expressions of amazement that one at last could get so much style for so little money. The cars certainly did make a splendid appearance and you certainly made a fine move in introducing the new designs at the show and convincing the public that it could have in the Dort line real style without excessive cost. The new Dort family with its beautiful lines and handsome bodies will surely make a great | appeal to the individual looking for a car of dis- i tinct ve character. The work of Mr. Henderson, formerly of the Holbrook Company, is recognized in this very unusual display. If 1 were not aware of the smelling prices of | these models my thought would be that they were very much higher than the prices you are asking. - KFrom the Automobile Department of THERVERDGMAIL 'What most particularly impressed me abo the Dort exhibit at the Grand Central Pala show was the fact that the Dort exhibit w continually surrounded by large crowds. When I looked over the Dort line, the answer was casy. The Dort people had taken the time and pains from the solution of present business problems to prepare for the show a complete hibit of the work of their new bedy plant, a riety of up-to-the-minute creations. 1 am glad to hear that selling results showed the public's appreciation of the Dort compaay giving them something really new. WASHINGTON, D. C, MARCH 13, 192[—PART 5. Washington Verdict Is Ratified by Eminent Automobile Critics You know what Washington thinks about the new Dort family. It is the talk of the town—the one out- standing topic wherever motor cars are discussed. : Our showrooms for the last three weeks have been visited by literally thousands of people—brought in by the news that we were showing something unusual and ex- ceptional. . : ‘ Now the Dort factory sends us copies of letters written by the automobile critics of the New York papers—men whose long ex- perience has made them both discerning and conservatjve. What they say about the impression made by the Dort family at the New York Show is quite in accord with-the remarks made by visitors at our Showroom right here in Wash- ington. Here are some of them: Typical Remarks of Washingtonians Who Have Looked Over the New Dort Family ¢“Always knew it was a great car mechanically. Now it’s a beautiful one!” Q“You've got to hand it to Dort!” “Don’t see how vou do it for the money!” @“Dort has certainly put one over!” g“Most artistically de- signed cars in years!” €g“Beautiful!” €“More individuality than in any other cars I've seen!” g“Charming!” g“You can’t beat these lines!” “Was going to buy a $3,000 coupe, but what’s the use?” {“No one will be chump enough to expect a price reduction on such cars. You've sure struck rock bottom!” q“Mighty §“Fine enough to satisfy the pride of the most particular!” €“No competition in your price class, old and roomy man!” comfortable, as well as P Q“Just as soon own that haieoed roadster as any $2,000 @“Can’t beat those:lines ” for any money! The Dort family will be the conspicuous fea- ture of the Washington Show—simply because the automobile market has no value to com- pare with them. Space at the Show, No. 24. Dort Distributing Company 1017 14th St. N. W, : Mamber Washingten Automotive Zxete Aseclation.: _ _ car in the market!” Frem the Automobile-Department of Dort's display of his new “family” at the Grand Central Palace was, indeed, an unusual exhibit, The fact that Mr. Henderson, late of the Hol- brook company, is responsible for these body designs, is in itself sufficient assurance of class. In fact, it was quite an accomplishment that Dort was able to secure his services for this work. The exhibit proved to be an outstanding fea- ture of the show and people who viewed the o various models showed unusual interest. lieve this foretells a successful Dort year. From the Automobile Department of 1 believe that Mr. Dort has solved the problem which will make a great many friends for Dor! cars. 1 don’t mean o say that Dort cars have not had many friends, beeause their friends are legion, but 1 do mean to say that with the new body design they will have a great many more friends than they ever had before. This, I think, means a good deal when you consider the past popularity of this car. S From the Autsmeblie Department of There is no doubt in the world that the new Dort line made a great impression at the show. Any one who tried to get a look at the mew models had to buck a tremendous jam, which was_around them continually. New York cer- tainly appreciated the =nappy lines and dis- tinguished appearance of the mew cars and, of course, fully realized their mechanical excel- lence. The Dort people made a good move when they got Henderson to build the bodies. He is some “bear” of a body man. If the crowds interested in any one exhibit at the New York automobile show is any indi- cation, the success of the new Dort family is as- sured. The efficiency of the Dort motor is well known and the new bodies built by Henderson were certainly an added attraction. From the Automobile Department of The new Dort models displayed at the Grand Central Palace came in for a lot of favorable comment. The display included a number of body types built by Henderson, formerly of the Holbrook company, who is very well known in the industry as a designer of fine automobile bodics. It is somewhat of an innovation for the builders of a low-priced car to secure the serv- ices of a designer of this character. Unques- tionably, the Dort exhibit was one of the hits of the show. * From the Automobile Department of We had always known what a good honest car the Dort was, but that it was possible to add 50 much class and distinction as is now em- bodied in the\Dort family without a price advance weemed unbelievable. tn- nt. late the Dort company upon its 7 I 3
