THE SAN FRANCISCO CALL, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1902. Hale’s. | Hale’s. | Hale's. omen’s Coats and Jackets Also children’s (and children’s mackintoshes, too). 3 A most fortunate offering at a most fortunate time. AH the popular styles and cloths are included and not a full price asked. Manufacturers don’t usually let go such values as these till after Christmas. But we went to a few of the big tailors (our best suppliers) and told them that we were going to hold our JANU- ARY SALE IN DECEMBER. Told them that if they could only spare us one or two of this or two or three of that we would take them, but we wanted them at.a bargain. In some cases they even took garments going to some one else, cut the labels out and sent them to us. The trade of these six Hale stores is worth taking care of. In other factories we found odd bolts of cloth'the tailors were glad enough to cut up and close out at a bargain. 4 Then we hurried all these garments here by express, so that youy could get the most good out of them. Resultis: They are all new (no later styles, no prettier ones), varied enough to suit every fancy and lower priced than common. You can’t think of a fabric, a style, that is missing. 'Ima;z.me such a choosing for about half money. We never had such skirt values before. The manufacturer says frankly he is losing money. They all expect to on their samples. But this man decided to make his loss heavier in order to gain more—our good will, and some of our trade next spring. We haven't patronized him much—we may now.
