CLIMBS HIGH ELEVATION The eight-cylinder King adds an- other high gear performance to its al- large number of features of this kind staged in the mountains of the west. This time the car was pilot- ed up the steep grades of mountains in Utah out of Salt Lake City. Bleakley completed yester- day the most remarkable high gear run ever made \in this part of the country with strictly a King Eight stock car. Negotiated big Cotton- wood canyon from Salt Lake City.to Brighton, all gears sealed in high. e is a continuous pull eighteen miles long, average grade 16% per cent, and as high as 22.2 per cent. The run was made from the starting point to Brighton, a distance of sixteen and eight-tenths miles, in exactly fifty- three minutes, without single stop for water or adjustment. You will under- stand how remarkable this run is when under average touring conditions three hours is considered good time for same run in second and low gears. The design has already at- tracted much faverable comment and will give a combination of the picto- rial and floral in well-balanced effect. When Goodyear a few years ago established a window display depart- ment and engaged the window expert of one of the big Chicago stores fo manage it there was much comment on the then “innovation.” Goodyear window displays have helped in the making of extremely attractive stores and have aided miz[:tily in the selling of hundreds of thousands of Good- ear tires. The meeting was called to perfect an organization for the purpose of marking and maintain- ing a road running from Valley to Central City. Delegates were in at- | tendance from Osceola, Shelby, Ris- |ing City, David City, Bruno and Prague, and a permanent organiza- tion was completed by the election of Hugo Hahn of David City president, R. Dearborn of Osceola secretary- treasurer and a vice president from each town along the proposed route of the road, | The road has been designated the Golden Rod route, and the work of | marking the road will be commenced at once.
