Children of Naval personnel and children of civilian employees were invited. Invitation cards were presented to each child entitling them to a very lovely gift. ‘The enormous one-ring circus was presented by Berger Vandusen and included clowns who kept not only the children howling but also their parents. There were trained dogs, per- forming seals and a chimpanzee that could actually skate and ride a bicycle, A tightrope walker had a little difficulty with several of his acts due to the inclement weather, which added to the hilarity of the audience, but was very successful in producing an unusual perform- |~ ance, There was also a dancing ele- phant, a special high-wire act and a skating act that provided free rides for several volunteer children At the end of the two hour show Santa Claus arrived and directed | the children to the gift tables where | gifts were distributed to all age | groups ranging from 1 to 10, ward W.
