Construction of residences for staff physicians at the District’s tubercu- losls sanatoria at Glenn Dale, Md,, will be started in the near future, bringing the development nearer to|g completion. The main building of the adult sanatorium there was formally ac- cepted for the District yesterday by Capt. H. 8. Bishop, assistant Engineer Commissioner, from the contractor, the Kidde Constructors, Inc., of New York. Bishop was accompanied by Mrs. Ernest R. Grant, director of the District Tuberculosis Association, and representatives of the Public Works Administration. Bishop declared the institution would prove to be one of the most up to date in the country. The Commissioners have received | g bids for construction of two-family houses and two single-family resi- dences for the staff physicians. The | low bid came from T. Calvin Owens, who offered to do the work for $116,- 000. District architects, meanwhile, are | completing plans for a three-story | building, which is to provide housing for 84 employes of the sanatoria, Later work will be started on an addi- | tion to the institution’s laundry and | on construction of roads and land- | scaping of the grounds. i The adult building is to be opened in about two months, after equipment and furniture has heen installed. Prof. Langdon, who was born at Monroe, Mich., was curator in the University Museum, Bablylonian sec tion, Philadelphia, from 1916 to 1918.
