NEW YORK, April 14—With oils in a late rally today, most divisions of the stock market were represented in an advance that carried leaders up for gains of as much as 2 points. Extension of yesterday's rally was attributed to hope for labor peace favorable earnings reports for the March quarter and a feeling on the part of many the recent shakedown in prices had largely expended its force. Expressed opinion of many execu- tives at company meetings that divi- dend prospects were favorable alse played its part in inducing traders to leave the sidelines. The market opened higher, then submitted to a brief wave of profit selling. Steels, motors and metaly lost part of their gains, but no real weakness developed. Transfers ap- proximated 1,400,000 shares. Metal shares were helped by strength of copper and other non- ferrous metals in London. Oils ad- vanced under impetus of predictions of increased earnings.
