C., MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 1937. PROSPEGTS 600D IN COPPER TRADE Increasing Use of Electrical Appliances and Auto Quotas Watched. By the Associated Prum NEW YORK, January 4—B. ! Caddle, secretary of the Copper & Brass Association, pointed today to building expansion, rural electrifica- tion, increasing home use of electrical appliances and New Year automobile sales quotas as factors contributing to a “most encouraging” outlook for the copper and brass industry. “Executives of the copper mining industry and brass fabricating indus- try are optimistic about business con- ditions,” he sald. “It is reasonable to believe that many new records for the consumption of copper products will be established.” The past year, he noted, was the best the industry has enjoyed since 1929, with fabricating plants in this country operating most departments at between 85 and 87 per cent of ca- pacity. “Sales quotas fixed by executives of the automobile and truck industry approximate 5,000,000 for this year,” he said. “If this quota is fulfilled the consumption of copper and its alloys by the automobile industry will approximate 250,000,000 pounds. “A resume of forecasts indicates that between 425000 and 450,000 new housing units will be constructed this year. That is almost twice the number of units constructed in 1936 and consumption of copper by that | industry will rank third to the elec- trical and automobile fields.” Washington Produce BUTTER—Range of prices to_stores sathered from sale dealers (prices tg sed on Philadelphia and | One-pound prints. car prin 1-pound prln!s, (l!lfln 1’.0 und prints, te ound prints, ound prints, (ub (92 score), tub (91 score), very nronl MlATS—Chulce be!l lambs. fresh h. 3 compound. 14 U\'S STOCK —| o : medium 0 roughs, tas} 16; 3 ed ham. 2 . bacon, sliced, lard, 16, ll 0’ : light hogs, 'a: heavies, clll!l. bll?. lambs.
