‘King Plans Entertainment . v - SHPSON DNVORG TOPCOFLONDON at Sandringham—Guests Unknown. By the Associated Press. LONDON, October 19.—King Edward plgnned royal entertainment today for his prospective house party guests at Sandringham, but whether Mrs. Ernest Simpson would be included among the visitors remained undisclosed. The British monarch motored to his country residence yesterday for the first stay there since his father died at the Norfolk estate last January. A court circular announced the ruler was accompanied by Maj. Ulick Alex- ander, keeper of the privy purse, and Comdr. Charles Lambe. Mrs. Simpson, the King's American friend, who last week began suit to divorce her husband on misconduct grounds, was reported invited to attend the royal house party. Future Status Is Topic. London, increasingly aware of the divorce proceedings, although British newspapers have published no word of it, speculated on the future status of the former Wallis Warfleld of Balti- | more, who has become the King's social companion. Discussion of the divorce suit held top place over plans for a gay Winter season as the official nine-month period of mourning for the late King George drew to a close this week. Some Mayfair gossip included men- tion of King Edward's and Mrs. Simp- son’s names in speculations on a possible morganatic marriage, but the talk drew immediate denials from other conversationalists. Shooting Parties Planned. ‘The bachelor monarch was expected to entertain his guests with shooting parties in the country around the Sandringham residence and was re- ported considering possibility of reor- ganization of the estate. Mrs. Simpson, who accompanied the ruler on an Adriatic cruise with other guests this Summer and was his guest at a Balmoral Castle house party in Scotland, remained in seclusion. Two London policemen, on duty be- fore her new home in Cumberland | Terrace, declined information concern- ing her whereabouts, WORRY OVER ESTATE BLAMED FOR SUICIDE Eastern Shore Man, 23, Was Con- cerned About Division of Family Farm.
