Mr. and Mrs. John Luther Ab- bitt of Norfolk, Va. announce the marriage of their daughter, Mary Zaida, to Mr. Joseph Harold Kiv- lighan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kivlighan of Staunton, Va. The wedding took place in the home of the bride Thursday aft- ernoon, September 24, Rev. Leo J. J. Ryan performing the ceremony. The bride, who was given in mar- riage by her father, wore a Lanvin model of egg-shell velvet made on princess lines with a full train. The high cowl neck formed sleeves full at the shoulder, tapering at the wrist. Her veil of illusion fell from a cap of rose point lace caught with or- ange blossoms and she carried an arm bouquet of bride’s roses and valley lilies. Miss Cornelia Frances, a sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Her gown was & Lanvin model of sapphire blue velvet, fashioned like the bride's, with & halo haat of matching velvet and her arm bouquet was of mixed flowers. The Misses Agnes and Marjorie Kivlighan, twin sisters of the bride- groom, were the bridesmaids. They wore gowns of Dubonnet velvet made with Mary Queen of Scotland collars. ‘Their matching halo hats were like that of the maid of honor and their bouquets mixed flowers. Mr. Kivlighan was attended by his brother, Mr. William Owen Kivlighan, as best man. The ushers were Mr. Michael Kivlighan, jr., and Mr. John Morton Abbitt of Norfolk, & brother of the bride. A reception followed the ceremony, and later Mr. and Mrs. Kivlighan left on a wedding trip to Bermuda. On their return they will make their home in Staunton at the Edgewood Apartments.
