L4 SOCIETY. ~ Mrs. Roosevelt Defers Her Trip to Hyde Park ~ To Complete Recovery Japanese Ambassador Fetes Countryman. Swiss Minister Returning—News of Other Officials. RS. ROOSEVELT, wife of the President, who is recovering from an attack of influenza, postponed her trip to Hyde Park to join the President for another day to complete her recovery. She has had with her for a few days at the White House her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Boettizer of New York. 3 The Japanese Ambassador, M. Hirosi Saito, was host informally at luncheon today entertaining in honor of the former minister of foreign affairs of Japan, M. Kinkichi Yoshizawa. The other guests included the counselor of the Soviet Embassy, Mr. Constantine A. Oumansky, officials of the State Department and members of the Japanese Embassy staff. The Ambassador gave an informal luncheon yesterday for M. Yoshizawa when his other guests were members of the embassy staff. The Swiss Minister, M. Marc Peter, will arrive in New York today aboard the Paris, after spending two months in his home in Switzerland with Mme, Peter, who will join him in Washington later in the Fall. The newly appointed Minister of Bolivia and Senora de Gua- challa have leased the house at 2507 Massachusetts avenue. ‘They will move to their new residence today. Countess Szechenyi, wife of the Hungarian Minister to London, has returned to her place at Newport after a brief visit in New York. She will be joined tomorrow by her sister, Mrs. Harry Payne Whitney, and they will be among the guests at the dinner that evening which their brother and sister-in-law, Brig. Gen. and Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt, will give at Beaulieu, their villa at Newport. The chief justice of Hawaii and Mrs. James L. Coke have arrived in Washington and are staying at the Shoreham for the remainder of the week. They left Honolulu a month ago and have been touring through this country since their arrival. The United States high commissioner for the Philippines, Mr. Frank Murphy, who has been at Hot Springs, went to New York yesterday. The first secretary of the Canadian Legation, Mr. Merchant Mahoney, was joined yesterday by Mrs. Mahoney, who spent the Bummer in their Ottawa home.
