They will go by way of Chicago and will visit Tia Juana, Mexico, while in the West. They plan to return in six weeks over the northern route, cover- ing the Canadian mountains. Mr. and Mrs. Wade H. Ellis will sail August 16 on the Aquitania for England, where they will spend two months. Mr. Winant P. Johnston will return tomorrow from Cedarhurst, L. I, where he is the guest for several days of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Dunham, 3d, at dinner by the former United States Minister to Hungary and Mrs. Nicho- las Roosevelt, the other guests being close friends of Mr. Johnston. Mrs. Clarence Crittenden Calhoun has returned to her home The Lodge, in Chevy Chase, from the Episcopal Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, where she recently underwent a successful operation on her eyes. Mrs. Arthur D. Kime and Miss Mead have gone to Nahant, Mass, where they are staying at the Hotel Tudor for the early season. Mrs. J. J. Pelley and her daughter, Miss Mary Jane Pelley, sailed Wednes- day on the Normandie to attend the Olympic eames and for a tour of Europe. Mr. Pelley is keeping their apartment at the Shoreham open dur- ing their absence, but he is spending the Fourth of July week-end at Hot Bprings, Va. Mr. Pelley is president of the Association of American Rail- roads. The Rector of St. Mark’s Church and Mrs. William Moody will sail on the S. S. Pilsudski for a visit to the Holy Land. They will return in Sep- tember. Mrs. Alonzo H. Stewart has returned to Washington and joined Mr. Stewart and his sister, Mrs. George Ellery Crosby, at the Chastleton after a visit with relatives in Columbus and | Dayton. Ohio. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart is in San Diego. Calif., but they have been in Washington since early last Fall Miss Evelyn A. Iverson, daughter of Judge and Mrs. G. A. Iverson left Sunday merning, June 28, by motor car to tour the West. She is accom- panied by a friend, Miss Charlotte Knight. Judge and Mrs. Iverson will Join their daughter in a few weeks in Balt Lake City, Utah. Miss Iverson is a G. W. graduate of 1933. She recently returned to the District after post-graduate work at Columbia. She will take a three-week course in | dramatics to be held at the resort at Bampf early in August. Mr. and Mrs. Hobart H. Ramsdell will close their home at Gaithersburg, Md.. tomorrow and, with their two daughters, Miss Ruth Ramsdell and Miss Jane Ramsdell, will leave by mo- tor for Rutland, Vt. where they have taken an apartment for the mid-Sum- mer. Miss Ruth Ramsdell js recu= perating from slight injuries mn an automobile accident in which her cousin, Miss Ellen Key Ramsdell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Charles Ramsdell of Clopper, Md., was seriously injured. The Misses Ramsdell are granddaughters of Mrs. May Brooks Ramsdell of Washington and the late Rev. Mazo will leave for New York early this week and will sail Tuesday aboard the S. S. Pennsylvania for California.
