The master list, when compiled, will be the guide followed by the Govern- ment in allocating funds for future airways construction work of all classes. Since separate recommenda- tions were submitted by each air line and by each other group represented in the conference here yesterday, it probably will be many days before the work of assembling the final list is completed. Recommended Projects. To expedite the work of the aviation executives, the Bureau of Air Com- merce prepared a tentative list of recommended projects, grouped by officials of the airline inspection service in the order they considered to be the most important. Should the Nation's airline operators and pilots and the others present at the con- ference concur with the Bureau in its listing, it is expected to be regarded by the industry as a sort of informal “vote of confidence” in the Bureau, recently subjected to the harsh criti- cism of a Senate investigating com- mittee. The list also was of importance, since it included all the recommended projects submitted to the Senate in- vestigating body as well as those originating with the Bureau of Air Commerce. Many projects of importance to the District of Columbia are included among the recommendations but these, too, remain to be classified in order | of importance. Among the sugges- tions of greatest importance for de- velopment of Washington Airport were the installation of complete blind landing or instrument approach facili- ties, construction of a radio traffic control station and relocation and in- stallation of simultaneous weather broadcast and radio range beacon services. Improvements on all the air- ways out of Washington, including completion of all facilities on the ‘Washington-Nashville route and in- stallation of lighting facilities on the Washington-Cincinnati line also were on the list. Conflict of Views. The conference found pilots and air transport officials themselves in direct conflict as to some of the aids to air navigation criticized by the Senate subcommittee.
