SOCIETY. Miss McKim Engagement Miss Kathryn McGog- ney to Be Bride in August. R AND MRS. CHARLES H. MCcGOGNEY announce the engagement of their daugh- ter, Kathryn Pearl, to Mr. William Frank Devine. The wedding will take place August 1. Miss Mc- Gogney has selected her sister, Mrs. James White, as her matron of honor and Barbara Jean White, her niece, as flower girl. Her bridesmaids will be Miss Ethel May Hayes, Miss Elizabeth Englert, Miss Barbara Hamma and Miss Ida Virgil Lyons. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee McKim of Luray announce the engagement of their daughter, Roberta Lee McKim, to Mr. James Click Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emory Davis of Galax, Va. The marriage will take place in the early Fall Both families are widely known and connected throughout Virginia, District of Columbia and Maryland. Miss McKim is a graduate of State Teachers' College, Harrisonburg. and the past year was a member of the faculty of Luray High School. She attended school, preparatory, in Ro- ancke, and at Farmville, Va. Mr. Davis attended Lincoln Memorial University, Tennestee. He is con- nected with the Resettlement Admin- istration and is located in the head- quarters office for the resettlement of Shenandoah National Park families in Luray. The announcement was made Thursday afternoon at a garden party at the home of Mrs. Holtzman Vert- ner at Greenwood Cottage by the CHlff. The color scheme used was pink and blue with silver. Mr. and Mrs. William Parker Taber announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Billie Taber, and Mr. Henry A. Gardner, jr.. at a tea given at their home in Norwalk, Ohio, Wed- nesday. Miss Taber spent the last two Winters in Washington, while she attended the King Smith School, where she was graduated in May. Mr. Gardner, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Gardner of Chevy Chase. attended the University of Virginia. He is a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and of the Chevy Chase Country Club. No date has been set for the wedding.
