PARLEY DISCUSSES CHILD HELP PLANS| 25 Delegates to Security Conference Remain to Con- sider Program. ‘While about 25 delegates remained to discuss the children’s aid programs coming under supervision of the United States Children’s Bureau, rep- resentatives of about 30 States yes- terday completed a two-day confer- ence on problems facing administra- tion of the “assistance” sections of the social security act. Leading the closing meeting were Henry P. Seidemann, statistical co- ordinator “for the Social Security Board, and Thomas H. Eliot, general counsel. Questions of finances and records were discussed by Seidemann, while Eliot outlined some of the legal regirements facing the States in shaping their plans for approval of the board. CLARENDON, Va, December 16.— Despite opposition voiced in Arlington County churches yesterday, the Alco- holic Beverage Control Board intends to carry out its plans to open a liquor store here, an Associated Press dis- patch from Richmond disclosed today. A. B, Clarke, public relations coun- sel for the board, said its members believe a majority of Arlington Coun- ty citizens favor the store, according to the dispatch. It now is planned to open the store by Friday this week, Clarke stated. He agreed that it was “difficult” to ascertain community sentiment before the establishment of a store, but pointed out that Arlington County voted for repeal and asserted a num- ber of citizens had written the board requesting the store. He further said the store will be intended to combat “a bad condition RESORTS. MIAMI, FLA. crippled children and child welfare.
