NEW YORK, December 16.—The Curb market had a broad stripe of irregularity today. Price changes were generally small and trading quiet. Losers included most of the active metals, utilities and quite a few in-| dustrials, while generally higher prices were paid for a few volatile specialties. | including Driver Harris, Flintkote “A,"” Singer Mfg. and General Tire & Rubber. SILVER REDUCED FURTHER T0 5% Price of Foreign Metal Sags Cent an Ounce Again at New York. By the Associated Press. NEW YORK, December 16.—The price of foreign silver was fixed by Handy & Harman today at 59% cents an ounce, a decline of 1 cent from the quotation posted last Friday. Prior to the establishment of the price here cable advices reported a London quotation of 26 pence an ounce for bar silver, off 7-16ths pence from Saturday’s nominal price. Today's quotation carried the price of the white metal 5% cents lower since the first decline was posted one week ago today, when a reduction of % of a cent an ounce set in motion a trend that has remained uninter- rupted since. The financial community still| lackee authentic information concern- | ing the real situation behind the pres- ent unsettlement in world cilver mar- kets, although many commentators have given various interpretations. | The lack of bids by the United States Treasury in London touched off the decline.
