THE EVENING STAR, RANSOM REPORTED TRACED TO FISCH Parker Quoted as Saying Furrier Spent Part of Money in Germany. ®y the Assoclated Press. NEW YORK, December 12.—The | News says today Ellis Parker, chief | »f Burlington County, N. J., detectives, has received confirmation from de- | tectives in Europe that Isidor Pisch, | Bronx furrier, spent part of the Lind- bergh ransom money in Germany. Parker's investigation, the paper | says, shows Fisch paid $300 in ransom money for a steamship ticket to Eu- rope and later changed an additional $600 into reichmarks. Haupimann Accused Fisch, Bruno Richard Hauptmann, now | under sentence of death for the kid- nap-slaying of Charles A. Lindbergh, Jr., said at his trial Fisch had given | him ransom money found in the Bronx carpenter’s home., Fisch died later of tuberculosis. Much of Parker's inquiry, the News | declares, incolved “forgotten archives | of the epochal mystery” concerning | Fisch's activities during August and | November, 1934. “If I had had in my hand the in- formation that was known to tae New York and New Jersey police and at the time Fisch sailed, he would never have left the United States,” the paper quoted Parker as saying. “‘Parker revealed that the final cap- stone had been placed on his convic- tion of Fisch's complicity by a heavy special delivery letter from Germany | last week, linking more ransom bills | to Fisch's trail in that country,” the News says. “A check-up by mail with detective connections abroad, Parker asserted, | has disclosed the spending of ransom money by Fisch in several European cities, most of them in Germany.” “Jafsie” Reported on Probe, The New York American says Dr. John F. “Jafsie” Condon is making a | secret investigation in an effort to ob- tain new evidence. Dr. Condon’s operations, the Amer- fcan says, include the manufacture of duplicates of the kidnap ladder and the ransom box, and conversations with Abraham Samuelson, the Bronx cabinetmaker who identified Bruno Richard Hauptmann as the man for | whom he made a ladder. HOOVER IS SILENT. Refuses Comment on Reports in Hauptmann Case. By the Associated Press. J. Edgar Hoover, director of the Bureau of Investigation which traced | the ransom notes in the Lindbérgh kidnaping. refused today to discuss re- ports that Ellis Parker, New Jersey detective, had traced ransom money to Germany. Hoover said he “won't talk about” | any new developments in the Lind- bergh case. He said his men with- drew as soon as Hauptmann was cap- | tured and have not interested them- selves in it since.
