CALVERT BRDGE FESTHALPLANE Committee Meets Tomor- row to Arrange Opening Program December 19. Definite plans for the opening and dedication of the new Calvert Street Bridge December 19 will be made to- morrow at 2 p.m. when the Steering Committee meets in the office of George C. Shinn, chairman, in the ‘Woodward Building. Tentative plans call for a parsde,; precedin gthe opening, which will take & leng circular route starting | and ending at the bridge. Col. John W. Oehmann, grand marshal, is ac-| cepting entries for the parade and | will make the assignment of places| for the units and floats. George E. Keneipp is in charge of other features of the program, includ- ing the speakers, dances and official | guests. The span, erected at a cost of $1,-| 750,000, will be opened by the cut- | ting of ribbons at each approach and | the District Commissioners will lead the first formal march of traffic. The| program probably will be concluded | with a fireworks display and a dance | in Rock Creek Park below the bridge. | The Army and Navy bands will take | part. Assisting Chairman Shinn are L. Perry West as vice chairman, Richard M. Ham as secretary and Gregg C. Burns as treasurer. The Advisory Committee is composed of John Saul, W. W. Everett, J. J. Hasley, Theodore | W. Noyes, Edgar Morris, James E.| Colliflower and Curtis E. McCalip. A number of subcommittees also have been named to work out various de- | tails of the celebration. LUHRING LISTENS TO 14 DIVORCE CASES IN DAY| D. C. Supreme Court Justice Sets Rapid Pace, Granting Decrees in 13. Setting an unusually rapid pace, Justice Oscar R. Luhring of District Supreme Court heard 14 divorce cases yesterday and granted absolute de- crees in 13 of them. All cases in| which the divorces were granted in- volved desertion or separation, made grounds for divorce by the new Dis- | trict law.
