O'HARA, Associated Press Financial Writer. NEW YORK, December 5—Two gessions of rising prices brought a considerable amount of realizing to the bond market today. The offer- | ings, however, were well taken and values showed a fairly stable tone in spite of irregularity in secondary issues. A number of the low-priced rails' backed up a little as traders took | profits on the sharp gains made since Monday. Loans of Southern Railway and New York Central were down half & point, while narrower losses ap- peared in those of Nickel Plate and e few more. The United States Government list | was a notch lower in trading volume and price changes were negligible. Secretary Morgenthau's announce- ment of oversubscription for the Treasury 2%s and 112 per cent notes was in line with traders’ expectations. Investment liens were bought at slightly better prices, notably in the case of Western Union 5s, United Drug 5s and Great Northern 4%zs. Bonds of St. Louis southv\estern weak in recent sessions on announced omission of January 1 interest, were _steadier.
