Hodges, 78, who for- merly practiced medicine here, died Wednesday at Miami, Fla., where he %rl,@fco/n Vashingtonss best located Gemnetery, T haw”lived since leaving this city more than 20 years ago. Funeral services will ke held to- morrow at 2 p.. at the Hines funeral home, 2901 Fourteenth street. Burial will be 1n Glenwood Cemetery. A native of Baltimore, Dr. Hodges was ecducated in the public schools there and graduated from the Balti- more Medical College in 1892. Many years ago he was in the drug business in Annapolis and lated in Washington until 1905 when he be- gan the practice of medicine here. He was a member of the Medical So- ciety of the District of Columbia from. 1906 to 1913. In Miami he had specialized ir ‘he treatment of nervous and mental dis- eases. At the time of his death he was a fellow of the American Medical Asscciation and a member of the Florida Medical Association. While engaged in the drug business, ne was president of the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association in 1888, and had been otherwise prominently identified in a business and profes- slonal way both in the District and Maryland. A, and Canon Raymond L. Wolven, were held today in the Beth- lehem Chapel, Washington Cathedral. Right Rev. James E. Freeman, Bishop of Washington, presided. The Cathedral choir of men and |-boys, directed by Robert G. Barrows, sang. In the congregation were Canon william L. De Vries, Canon Joseph Fletcher, Carbn and Mrs. Anson Phelps Stokes, Mrs. Freeman and Mrs, Wolven’s daughters-in-law. Interment will be at Bloomfleld, N. J. O'Rourke, 63, retired furni- ture dealer and former Philadelphia sports writer, died early today at his home, 2108 R street, after an illness of several months. He had suffered from heart trouble. A native of Philadelphia, Mr. O'Rourke for many years wrote base ball news for papers there and at one time managed several teams in the old Tri-State League. He came to Wash- ington in 1915 and for 20 years was in the furniture business here. Mr. O'Rourke was a former vice president of the Kiwanis Club, 8 mem- ber of the Knights of Columbus and the Philadelphia Base Ball Writers' Association, Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Cath- erine O'Rourke, and two sons, George and John O'Rourke, managing editor of the Daily News. Funeral services will be held to- morrow at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church, followed by 'burial Olivet Cemetery. % o MISS CROGGON DIES; FUNERAL TOMORROW Member of Society of Natives Was 72 Years 01d. Miss Josephine Hall Croggon, 72, as a reporter for The Star wrote the news account of President Lin- coln's assassination, died Wednesday at her home, 625 Maryland avenue northeast, after a long illness. A former clerk at the Pension Office, Miss Croggon retired about 12 years ago, after 40 years of Government service, A member of one of the city’s oldest families, she belonged to the Society of Natives of the District of Columbia and the Waugh M. E. Church, and was a charter member of Treaty Oak Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Her father was one of the five organizers of the Sons of Jonadab. Her mother was the late Mrs. Eliza- beth C. Croggon. Miss Croggon is survived by two Mary F, Croggon, Funeral services will be held to- morrow at 2 p.m. at her late residence. Rev. Allan F. Poore and Rev. Howard F.
