JDAY SERVIGES FOR CHINA GROUP Inland Mission to Be Guests of Fourth Presbyterian Church. The Fourth Presbyterian Church will be host to the China Inland Mission for a three-day series of services and conferences, Sunday eve- ning, Monday at 3 and 8 o'clock and ‘Tuesday at the same hours. At the first session, Sunday eve- ning, Dr. Howard Taylor, son of Hudson ‘Taylor, who founded the mission, will speak upon the Christian missionary enterprise in China. Rev, C. A. Bunting of Kiangsi, China, will speak Monday at 3 o’clock on “Communism.” Rev. G. K. Harrls, who worked for 20 years in Northwest China among the Moslems, and Miss G. Emblem, who was a prisoner of the Communists in China last year: Miss B. M. Laing, from Chekiang Province, China, and Rev. Robert H. Glover, home director of the mission, will also speak. At the morning service tomorrow at 11 o'clock, the minister, Rev. James H. Miers, will deliver the sixth sermon in the series of “Christianity as a Life,” “Christ, Our Necessity.” The sermon will be broadcast over WOL from 11:30 to 12 o'clock. Judge William A, Andrews will speak before the adult class at 9:30 am. The plebiscite was ar- ranged for at the national convention of Congregational churches last June, and is under the direction of the De- nominational Council for Social Ace tion, of which Dr. Russell J. Clinchy of this church is a director. ‘The plebiscite ballot provides for an affirmative or negative vote on war in this form: “I believe as a Christian I should bear arms in or otherwise support (1) any war which the United States Government may declare, (2) any war declared by the United States Government against an internation- ally recognized aggressor, (3) only a war declared by the United States Government after making utmost use of every agency for peace, (4) only a war in which United States territory has been invaded, (5) no war which the United States Government may declare.” League Membership, Voters also are asked to indicate whether or not they “will work for peace by advocating” membership in the League of Nations, consultation with other nations in support of the Kellogg pact and other peace agree- ments, national isolation through strict neutrality legislation, more equal distribution of world resources and markets; a larger Army, Navy and air force; abolition of compulsory military training and Government control of the munitions industry. Votes in Four Groups. The results of the voting will be tabulated according to four age groups, 15 to 20, 21 to 35, 36 to 50 and 51 and over, and also according to sex, church membership and occupation. When the final returns are received from the 1,200,000 members of the denomination they will be announced by the Congregational headquarters office in Boston.
