Noel Porter, Bishop of Sacramento, Calif., will be the guest preacher tomorrow morning at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Eight- eenth street, between P and Q streets. While in Washington he will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. Leslie Mc- Crea at their home, 3300 Cathedral avenue. Mr. McCrea will give a din- ner in honor of Bishop Porter to- night at 7 o'clock at the Mayflower, which will be attended by the vestry of St. Thomas’ parish and several other members of the congregation. Bishop Porter is one of the out- standing figures in the Episcopal the General Theological Seminary in New York, he spent several years as priest in charge of a parish in Southern California and then, still in his early thirties, was elevated to the | high position of Archdeacon of the Diocese of San Francisco, in direct charge of all missionary work throughout the tremendous area cov- ered by the San Francisco diocese. His work in San Francisco was so outstanding that he quickly won na- tional recognition.
