HALPINE, Md., October 3.—Alex- ander Austin Braddock, 81-year-old collateral descendant of Gen. Edward Braddock, under whom George Wash- ington served before the Revolution, died here yesterday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Edmonston. Mr. Braddock was & member of one of Montgomery County's pioneer families, a family which at one time owned considerable holdings aeround Rockville. His grandfather constructed the Hungerford Tavern in Rockville in 1817, before the town’s name was changed from Williamsburgh. Born Near Rockville. The son of George Reeve and Tabitha Austin Braddock, he was born in 1854 on what is now the Christ Child Society Farm, near Rockville, and, with the exception of a few years in the West, he spent his entire life in Montgomery. Mr. Braddock was the husband of the late Marie Antoinette Braddock.| He was identified with the newspa- | per profession for many years, serving | | with the Eentinel and Advocate in | Rockville and at one time being the | editor and publisher of a newspaper | | in Columbus, Ohio. | Burial in Oklahoma. | _ In addition to Mrs. Edmonston, Mr. | Braddock is survived by two sisters, | Mrs. Blanche Braddock Creamer of Rockville and Washington, and Mrs. | Catherine Braddock Pyles of San Francisco and Washington; another daughter, Mrs. Leslie Daniels of Okla- homa City, and two sons, E.
