Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Henry Morgenthau, jr., will leave Washington this evening for his farm at Fish- kill, N. Farley, is with Mrs. Farley and their family in New York and will not return to Washington until next Wednesday. The Postmaster General attended the services for the late Mrs. Harold L. Ickes. at Winnetka and went from there to his New York home. The Chief Justice and Mrs. Charles Evans Hughes are again at the Mount Washington in Bretton Woods, N. H., for the late Summer and are expected to return to their Washington home the end of this month. The Chief Justice and Mrs. Hughes were at Bretton Woods early in the Summer and have made a trip through the Great Lakes, to the Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks and through the Canadian Rockies. The Ambassador of Germany, Herr Hans Luther, and his family have gone to Atlantic City to spend the week end. The military attache of the Spanish Embassy, Maj. Jose Vidal, returned last evening to Washington after spending several days at the naval maneuvers near Baltimore. Mrs. Nicholas Longworth, widow of the late Speaker, and their daughter Paulina, who arrived vesterday from Europe on the Manhattan, will spend a short time with Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt, widow of the President, be- fore going to their home in Cincinnati. Mrs. Hamilton Wright, who has| been at the Norlands, the old Wash- burn family place in Maine, has re- turned to Washington.
