AR DRAMA CAST STAGE VETERANS Gertrude Berg Is Only One Never to Have Played on Broadway. ERTRUDE Berg, believe it or not, is the only member of the House of Glass cast who has rever appeared on a Broadway stage. Every other player in this popular N. B. C. dramatic series has been behind the footlights. Joseph Greenwald, who plays op- posite Mrs. Berg as Barney Glass, was starred in Broadway produc- tions of “Abie's Irish Rose,” “Potash and Perlmutter,” “Spring Song” and Al Jolson's “Wonder Bar.” Paul Stewart (Whitey, the bell hop), played in “Subway Express” “Two Seconds” “East of Broadway” snd “Bulls, Bears and Asses.” Helene Dumas (Ella Mudge, the headwaitress), had roles in “Under the Gaslight,” “All Rites Reserved” and “The Crooks’ Convention,” while Bertha Walden (Katie the cook) played in “Abie’s Irish Rose,” “Won- der Bar,” “Potash and Perlmutter” and “Spring Song.” George Tobias (Conrad, the dish- washer), had prominent roles in | Eugene O'Neill's “The Hairy Ape,” | “What Price Glory?”, “Road to| Rome,” “The Fool” and “The Black | Pit.” Aline Francis (Madeline Marres) | played in “Street Scene “I lnved‘ You Wednesday” and “The Party's| Over,” and Anne Teeman (Norah) was with Paul Muni in_“Counselor- |- at-Law,” and with Edward G.
