A—20 EQUESTRUANGROLP MODELS DUE SOON Fine Arts Commission to Inspect Work of Two Prominent Artists. Officials of the National Park Serv- ice and the Fine Arts Commission will inspect these colossal models and then will come the problem of secur- ing funds to have them translated into stone. The local authorities are hopeful that a public works grant may be secured for this work, so that the original designs for the bridge development may be carried out. These statues rep~ resent the art of James Earle Fraser, who designed the Alexander Hamilton statue on the steps of the Treasury Department, the John Ericsson Me- morial in Potomac Park and numerous other works of art. John L. Nagle, epgineer of the National Park Service, who has been assisting in the development o! the Arlington Memorial Bridge project since the days that Lieut. Col. U. 8. Grant, 3d, was in charge, explained that quarter and half size models were made previously. The Fine Arts Commission was consulted at each stage of the development. Night of Horror on Glacier Follows Plunge on Slick Ice By the Associated Press. ESTES PARK, Colo, July 5—A night of horror ccmbining a plunge of 600 feet across a glacier and hours of crawling on the slick ice of Flat Top Mountain leit Kenneth Corlay, 26, Champaign, I1l, high school in- structor, determined “to go back and climb that peak.” Park rangers, who found Corlay at dawn at the base of the precipice over which he fell, said his escape from death was “miraculous.” The ice on Tyndall Glacier cracked Free! for a limited | time!
