Davila, is in Hot Springs, Vs., where he is staying at the Home- stead. Last evening he was the guest at dinner of the Rumanian consul and Mme. Ververka, whase coronation as “Queen Shenandoah XII” of the Apple Blos- som Festival, is scheduled for 3 o'clock ‘Thursday afternoon on the Handley High School grounds, will be the honor guest at a series of large and elaborate social functions during her stay. She will arrive late tomorrow afternoon from Washington, accom- ied by her brother, Mr. Ferdinand ‘everka, jr., as personal escort, and & squad of motor cycle police. Dr. and Mrs. Hunter H. McGuire, official hosts of the “queen,” will entertain for her at dinner that evening at their residence. Mrs. Richard Evelyn Byrd will en- tertain Thursday for the “queen” at @ large luncheon, which will afford “her majesty” first opportunity to and Mme. Veverka at the residence of Mrs. Lewis Huntington Hyde. Mrs. Robert T. Barton, Mrs. Brantz M. Roszel and Mrs. Melvin Green will entertain at luncheon for notables from Washington and other cities at the residence of the former, after which the guests will see the “queen’s” parade from Mrs, Barton's porches and lawns.
