Gold Currencies Accorded Suppo As Belga Declmes By the Associated Press. Leading gold bloc currencies were strongly supported in the world’s prin- cipal foreign exchange markets today as the Belgian unit went into a fresh nose dive coincident with suspension of dealings in Brussels. Steps taken in the Belgian capital were widely regarded as preliminary to devaluation and fears were ex- pressed as to possible repercussions upon the other goid bloc currencies. A flight of capital from Switzerland was reported. ‘The French franc held well against the dollar, however. The dollar closed unchanged in Paris and later in New | York the Prench franc was quoted | -00% higher at 6.59s cents. At the same time the Swiss franc rose .02 to 32.36 cents in Wall Street. Sterling was higher against gold | bloc currencies and the dollar, reflect- Continent of Eurcpe to London.
