Leading newspaper figures here are co-operating with the Newspaper ‘Women’s Club in arranging the latter organization’s projected benefit ball at the Willard Hotel Saturday night. Philadelphia Saturday. r Sembers of the Senate and House Naval Affairs Committees will fly from the Naval Air Station at Ana- costia on Saturday to inspect the naval-afreraft factory at Philadelphia. Secretary Swanson issued the invi tations to the legislators, and an- nouncement of the trip was made yess terday by the Navy Department. They will go and return by plane. Stetson, Astronomy, Also Noted Author on Believes Radio W aves Destroy Direction Sense. ‘That the “direction-finders” of carrier pigeons work on the same electro-magnetic principle as the in- duction compass used by Lindbergh when he flew across the ocean, and that radio waves destroy the homing pigeons’ sense of direction are two theories suggested by Harlan T.
