LIMA, Peru, December 11.—Calibra- tion of the barograph of the Pan- American-Grace airliner Santa Lucia yesterday showed it had made a new altitude record for South America and & probable record for commercial planes in flying a California cosmic- ray hunter. ‘The 14-passenger craft, piloted by E. B. Allen, reached 29,800 feet. The only passenger was Prof. Sergea Korfl of the California Institute of Tech- nology. This region is near the earth's mag- netic equator. Korfl said his results tended to confirm the theories of his colleague, Prof. Robert A. Millikan.
