Miss Diane Smith will return to Washington tomorrow after visiting several months in California, where she was a guest of her brother, Lieut. Sterling Smith. She returned by way of Panama, stopping off at Havana. She will leave Washington early in January for Florida, where she will spend the remainder of the Winter. Mrs. Robert W. Locke and Miss Hannah H. Locke arrived yesterday in Washington from Philadelphia and are at the Sulgrave Club until Thurs- day. Miss Callie Doyle, who makes her home at the Mayflower, has gone to New York and is staying at the Hotel Gotham. Mrs. Frank Lewis was hostess to & perty of 12 yesterday at luncheon at the Madrillon. C, TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 1934 MISS MARY BOWIE CLAGETT, NEW RAILROAD COACHES TO BE EXHIBITED HERE New Haven Line Displays Two Tomorrow, Built With Part of $2,000,000 P. W. A. Loan. Two new passenger coaches, the last word in design and comfort as typifying the revolutionary moderni- zation now going on in railroading under the public works program, will be on exhibition tomorrow at Union Station. ‘The coaches were brought here by the New York, New Haven & Hart- ford Co., which built 50 of these new coaches from a P. W. A. loan of $2,000,000. They gre being exhibited here before being put into regular service. With another $300,000 P. W. A. loan, the New Haven line is building a streamlined train similar to those being operated by the Union Pacific and Burlington Railroads.
