NEW YORK, June 29.—All the mar-| | kets, security and commodity, floundered| about today without getting anywhere| in particular. Traders were nervous in view of all| the international uncertainties and| reluctant to assume any new risks. This| did not apply to the pools operating in| stocks, who kept up their activities per-| haps because they had no choice, but| it was true of the rank and file. The dollar rose sharply in terms of foreign currencies. In the late after- | noon sterling was down 514 cents and| francs off 5! points, after both bills had fluctuated violently all day. Realiz= |ing in wheat prevailed up to the last| hour, when there was a rally, and final prices were fractionally higher. | Heavy selling of National Distillers| ! Prcducts was the feature cf the stock market in the last 15 minutes. The jlist as a whole was under moderate pressure at the end The market had a number of things to worry about. First and foremost was the critical situation at London. While opinions differed as to the ultimate ef- fect either of the abandonment of the gold standard by Holland or France or| of the breakup of the Economic Con- ference, the immecdiate result, it was believed, would be a sharp reaction on our exchange.
