VAN LOOCK, For many years a member of the United States Marine Band and more lately engaged in the musical instrument busi- ness, died Monday night at Walter Reed Hospital. Funeral serviecs will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the W, Chambers funeral home, with burial iff Arlington Natjonal Cemetery. Mr. Van Loock was born in Belgium 67 years ago and In his youth was em- ployed in the musical instrument fac- tories of his native land. He went to Montreal, Canada, in 1894 and five years later removed to Washington, where he became a member of the Ma- rine Band. Upon his retirement from the service he entered the musical in- strument business under the firm name of E. Van Loock & Son. He was widely known as a composer and arranger of music. He was a mem- ber of Lebanon Lodge, No. 7, F. A A. M.; Adoniram Council, No. 2, Eureka Chapter, and Columbia Commandery, No. 2, Knights Templar. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Eliz- abeth P. Van Loock; three sons, Louis A., Albert M. and Leo J. B. Van Loock, and & granddaughter, Helen E. Van Loock. NICHOLAS LUQUER DIES AT AGE OF 95 Father of Architect Well Known in Social Circles Here Several Decades Ago. Nicholas Luquer, father of 'Lynch Luquer, prominent Capital architect, died yesterday at the Luquer home, 1701 New Hampshire avenue. He was 95 years old. Mr. Luquer was well known in Wash- ington social circles several decades ago. but had been in retirement for some time. He was a member of the Metropolitan Club and of the board of trustees of St. John's Orphanage, A native of Brooklyn, N. Y., he was graduated from Columbia University in 1858, and became a patron of the arts, especially music, to which he devoted much time and money. He was one of the founders of the Mendelssohn Glee Club, He established his permanent resi- dence in the nineties and had lived here since. Besides his son, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William Allen Hayes, of the Connerticut Avenue Apartments. Funeral se-vices will be held at St. John'’s Church at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning, following which the body will be taken to Brooklyn for burial in Greenwood Cemetery there.
