You have done well to get as far as you have in a year and a half, especially now, when times are bad anu so many girls are out of a job. The advice given you at the store is good. Wait and watch for your chance. When business picks up you are almost certain to be pro- moted. It does happen, only too often, that people in big jobs are hired from out side rather than from the establish- ment. Employes always think they're missing something. So when some one comes in from another firm they think she'll bring mysterious secrets with her. Usually that's all nonsense. If that happens to you and you don't get your promotion in the store you are now in, you will be in a position to leave and start higher up in some other | store. But, in any case, don't leave now. Keep on with your special courses and your chance will come. (Copyright, 1031) New Zealand has increased its income taxe Handwriting What It May Reveal. BY MILDRED MOCKABEE.
