Washington's indoor horse show sea- son was launched auspiciously Friday night when the Riding and Hunt Club staged a fast-stepping program that was marked by the absence of spills. President Hoover has accepted the invitation to give the Christmastide cel- ebration signal again this year to the Nation by pressing the button of the great national community Christmas tree in Sherman Square, at 5:30 on the afternoon of Christmas eve. The Chief Executive will press the button that will light the tree and open the annual ceremony of rejoicing and carol singing. Groups of singers representing many organizations here will take part in the carol singing.
